Mesiodistal dimensions of teeth in Serbian orthodontic patients with hypodontia

Introduction/Objective. Hypodontia is a common dental anomaly that occurs either in non-syndromic form or as part of various syndromes. It considered multifactorial condition with genetic, epigenetic, and environmental influences, the interplay which can lead to anomalies tooth size number. The aim this study was assess mesiodistal dimensions Serbian hypodontia orthodontic patients compare them healthy controls using digital models. Methods. Fifty subjects (30 females, 20 males) divided into two groups ? 25 (15 10 sex-matched were included study. Alginate impressions taken plaster models poured, digitized, imported software where obtained. Results. Intra-operator reliability high. All teeth group had smaller compared controls. Statistical significance noted for all except upper canines. No statistically significant differences found between males females neither nor control group, lower canines, significantly both females. most commonly missing lateral incisors, premolars. Conclusion. presented greatest difference incisors first molars. Lower canines larger groups.
